Schizophrenic Cyborg
Mobile, wearable computing meets guerrilla performance. One performer wears a wearable computer and positions the display on a utility vest facing forward so that observers can see the display as they approached him. The performer wanders through the environment with the public physical display on his belly. Because of the positioning of the display, only the observers can see the information on the display. Another hidden performer watches and listens in to the performer’s interactions with the audience and then changes the information on the display. This provokes unexpected and unanticipated interaction with the audience. Created for Art-Cels 3-day celebration with performance artist Stelarc.
