Andrine & DIFR
BigDog Interactive was commissioned to exhibit three installations at St. George's Hall in Liverpool during the Liverpool European Capital of Culture opening
gala night gala event. The event showcased artists' work from around NW
England. The event organizers and directors were looking for ways of
getting their audience to interact with their environment and each
other. We
created two installations, one based on “Andrine”. Andrine
is an interactive avatar that emotionally responds to text messages.
Andrine understands over 6,000 words and can interpret full sentences
into an emotional facial expression. For the gala,
Andrine’s face was “reskinned” to include famous
faces from around Liverpool. The second installation DIFR is an
interactive table in which the audience can move object on the table to
show historic film clips of Liverpool. We use RFID technology that turns any
object into a simple interactive remote control. Watch a video of Andrine
